October 26 (THEWILL) – Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), confirmed on Thursday, that the 2026 World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles and Lesotho’s Crocodiles has been rescheduled.
The CAF Group C fixture will take place on Thursday, November 16, at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, with a kick-off at 5 p.m. The match has been brought forward by one day, as November 17, 2023, was the original date announced earlier this week.
Nigeria’s second Group C match against Zimbabwe will be played on November 20. As preparation for the qualifiers, Jose Peseiro’s side drew 2-2 with Saudi Arabia on October 13 and beat Mozambique 3-2, three days later in friendlies.
The Super Eagles have a 100% record against Lesotho, winning four straight matches and scoring ten goals, while conceding just two. South Africa and Benin complete Group C.
