Nigeria Bans International Travel For Officials

SAN FRANCISCO, March 17, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s central government has banned all foreign travels for all officials in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Secretary to the government of the federation, Boss Mustapha announced the policy Tuesday after the inaugural meeting of the Presidential taskforce on the pandemic.

Nigeria is yet to announce a restriction on travels to and fro countries worst hit by COVID-19 though the call to ban remains popular amongst citizens and residents polled by THEWILL.

Boss, however urged Nigerians, travellers and residents returning from such countries to self-isolate for 14 days.

Nigeria has so far reported 3 confirmed cases of the coronavirus.
