BEVERLY HILLS, APRIL 17, (THEWILL) – Nigeria has reported a record 51 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus, the biggest one-day tally since the virus hit the shores of the powerhouse of Africa’s economy, bringing the total number of infections to 493 as at 10.10pm local time Friday.
According to data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, Lagos, the epicenter of the disease recorded 32 new cases, while Kano got 6, Kwara 5, FCT 2, Oyo 2, Katsina 2, Ogun 1 and Ekiti 1.
Nigeria also reported 159 recoveries and 17 deaths (3 new today).
