Niger Delta: Air Chief Urges Militants To Embrace Dialogue

SAN FRANCISCO, October 28, (THEWILL) – The Chief of Air staff, CAS, Air Mashal Sadique Abubakar has pleaded with militants in the Niger Delta to embrace the dialogue offered by the federal government for peace to reign in the region.

He stated this on Friday when he came to commission blocks of 18 x2 bedroom apartments and 10 x one bedroom flats at 97 SOG, Port Harcourt, the Rivers capital.

Abubakar stressed that the Airforce will continue to pursue its constitutional responsibility of defending the nation’s territory.

His words, “Our message to them is that they should dialogue with the federal government. On our part we will continue to discharge our constitutional responsibility We will do everything humanly possible to protect lives and ensure peace.

“The constitution has given us mandate to protect our territory. let them embrace peace but if they fail to do that we have a constitutional responsibility to protect lives,” the CAS stated.
