October 07, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session lower, as market capitalisation declined by N110 billion, while the benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) fell 176.75 points amid broader selling pressure.
Market capitalisation opened at N162.495 trillion but closed at N162.385 trillion, while the ASI declined from an opening level of 250,273.50 to 250,096.75 points.
The session recorded 23 gainers against 31 decliners, reflecting a negative market breadth as selling pressure outweighed buying interest.
Top Gainers
- TRIPPLEG led the gainers, rising 9.96 percent (from N2.81 to N3.09).
- CMFC followed with a 9.86 percent gain (moving from N3.65 to N4.01).
- CHAMPION advanced 9.50 percent (from N10.00 to N10.95).
- WAPIC gained 9.24 percent (to close at N2.60 from N2.38).
- MULTITREX completed the top five gainers, rising 8.33 percent (from N0.36 to N0.39).

- THOMASWY recorded the largest decline, falling 9.74 percent (from N2.67 to N2.41).
