NGX Market Cap Falls ₦262bn As ASI Drops 0.16 Percent

The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed Friday’s session on a bearish note, as market capitalisation fell by ₦262 billion from ₦163.104 trillion at the opening to ₦162.842 trillion at the close.

October 2, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed Friday’s session on a bearish note, as market capitalisation fell by ₦262 billion from ₦163.104 trillion at the opening to ₦162.842 trillion at the close.

The All-Share Index (ASI) also declined by 403.40 points, opening at 251,211.67 and closing at 250,808.27.

Market breadth was evenly matched, with 26 equities recording price gains and another 26 stocks closing lower.

On Gainers’ Chart;

AIICO surged 10.00 percent (₦3.80 to ₦4.18).

TRANSEXPR surged 10.00 percent (₦2.70 to ₦2.97).

LIVESTOCK rallied 9.88 percent (₦8.10 to ₦8.90).

LIVINGTRUST jumped 9.87 percent (₦3.14 to ₦3.45).

ABCTRANS soared 9.63 percent (₦6.75 to ₦7.40).

On Decliners’ Side;

PZ plunged 9.91 percent (₦73.70 to ₦66.40).

ETRANZACT tumbled 9.84 percent (₦12.20 to ₦11.00).

ZICHIS shed 8.29 percent (₦19.90 to ₦18.25).

FTNCOCOA sank 8.19 percent (₦8.30 to ₦7.62).

ROYALEX slumped 7.83 percent (₦1.15 to ₦1.06).

The session also recorded unchanged prices across several equities, including Dangote Cement, HBM Nigeria Plc, Custodian Investment, Julius Berger, Golden Guinea Breweries and Cadbury Nigeria, among others.
