NFF Appoints New Media Officers For National Men And Women Teams

SAN FRANCISCO, October 27, (THEWILL)- The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has made public the appointment of Babafemi Raji and Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu as the new Media Officers of the Senior Men’s and Women’s National Teams, the Super Eagles and Super Falcons respectively.

Raji takes over from Toyin Ibitoye who has been in the post for a five-and-half-year period.

The new man, Raji is presently the Group Manager, Programmes and Contents in Brila Media Group. He began sports journalism as a freelancer with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in Ile-Ife between 2003 – 2006 while studying at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ife. Upon graduation with a Bachelor of Arts in English degree, he joined Radio Brila, Nigeria’s first all-sport radio station in 2008.

Raji was also a member of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Media Committee set up by the tournament sponsors. As a certified management consultant, Raji is a fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants.

On the other hand, Oluchi Tobe-Chukwu takes over from Jane Onyinye Nweze.

Tobe-Chukwu, popularly known as tobexSports, is an astute women football advocate and writer with keen passion for the growth of the domestic Women’s League. An exceptional student, she was the second best graduating student in Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi.

She also holds a Mass. Comm. Master’s degree from the Lagos State University. Prior to acquiring that post-grad degree, she established herself as a footballer featuring for domestic clubs like Hamza Queens, Flamming Flamingos and Ibom Angels.

Ademola Olajire, Director of Media and Communications in the NFF, praised the outgoing officers, Ibitoye and Nweze, for the excellence with which they rendered their services while they with the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons respectively. He further wished both of them good fortunes in their subsequent endeavours.

“Ibitoye and Nweze were superb to work with. They demonstrated excellent people skills and acuity, and were diligent, energetic and knowledgeable. We wish them the very best in their endeavours going forward.”
