September 29, (THEWILL) – On Friday, league leaders, Al-Hilal, hosted Al-Shabab in a Saudi Pro League fixture that ended 2-0 in favour of the home side, thanks to goals from Kalidou Koulibaly and Aleksandar Mitrovic, both through Neymar’s assists.

The first half saw Al-Hilal dominate possession but fail to break the deadlock. Their best chance came from a Neymar penalty in the 37th minute, which the Brazilian was unable to convert.

The second half brought renewed attacking impetus from Al-Hilal. They finally made the breakthrough in the 68th minute, when Neymar’s pinpoint corner found the head of Koulibaly for 1-0.

Just eight minutes later, Neymar turned provider again with some fantastic footwork in the box to tee up Mitrovic, who slotted home to double Al-Hilal’s advantage.

The result leaves Al-Hilal top of the table on 20 points from eight matches. Their nearest challengers are Al-Ittihad and Al-Taawoun on 19 points, while Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nasr sit fourth on 18 points.
