Newcastle Set To Sign England U19 International Hall From Chelsea FC

August 18, (THEWILL) – Newcastle United have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea to acquire promising England Under-19 international, Lewis Hall.

The deal comes after talks for a potential loan move to Crystal Palace fell through, prompting Chelsea to move with Newcastle for the young talent. Hall, an 18-year-old Academy graduate, primarily played in midfield during his youth team days but is equally comfortable in the left-back position.

Newcastle have agreed to a comprehensive package that could amount to £35 million for Chelsea. The agreement entails an initial loan deal for Hall, followed by an obligation for a permanent transfer next summer. Newcastle’s decision to pursue a loan deal aligns with concerns over Financial Fair Play regulations, allowing them to include Hall’s transfer in next season’s accounts.

For Chelsea, this deal guarantees a sale, enabling them to incorporate the funds into their current summer finances. Hall underwent a medical examination in Newcastle on Friday and is expected to sign a contract with the Magpies. Notably, Hall’s affinity for the club stems from familial connections to the region, further solidifying his excitement for the move.

Newcastle manager, Eddie Howe, has acknowledged that talks regarding Hall’s transfer are nearing completion. He expressed his admiration for the player, highlighting his versatility and immense potential. Howe added that unless unforeseen injuries occur within the team, he does not anticipate any further transfer activities during the remaining summer window.
