Newcastle Serious About Bringing Kieran Trippier To EPL

January 01, (THEWILL) – Newcastle United have made their first official bid for Kieran Trippier of Atletico Madrid. The EPL side is keen to make the Englishman the first signing under the club’s new ownership, and talks between the two teams have been underway for a few days.

An official bid has arrived on Atletico Madrid’s desk, with Newcastle prepared to pay the cash in order to improve one of their most in-need positions.

Trippier is a huge fan of Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, who is willing to offer the right-back the club’s biggest contract in the club’s history, while Newcastle is also willing to pay a large fee to persuade Atletico to sell.

Yet, Diego Simeone is hesitant to sell his starting right-back in the middle of the season even though Newcastle is willing to let their money speak for itself, and their offer is much bigger than those made by Trippier’s other suitors.

Trippier is still to be persuaded to transfer to St. James’ Park, with the club’s precarious Premier League position a major issue, but the 31-year-old is eager to return to England’s top flight.

However, Newcastle will have to fight off competition from other interested parties. Atletico hopes that their approach will spark a bidding war between long-time admirers Manchester United and previous employers Tottenham.

Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Everton, and Wolves are all keeping an eye on the situation, with a number of Premier League clubs prepared to help the Englishman return to his nation.
