Netflix’s ‘Mank’ Leads Oscars 2021 Nominations… See Full List Here In THEWILL

BEVERLY HILLS, March 16, (THEWILL) – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) just released the full nominations list for the 2021 Oscars.

Indian actress, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and US singer, Nick Jonas, announced the nominated entries for the award in a two-part live presentation on Monday.

Contesting for the ‘Best Picture’ category are ‘The Father’, ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’, ‘Mank’, ‘Minari’, ‘Nomadland’, ‘Promising Young Woman’, ‘Sound of Metal’, and ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’.

‘Mank’, Netflix’s 2020 comedy-drama, top the nomination list with 10 nominations including the ‘Best Director’ (David Fincher), ‘Best Actor’ (Gary Oldman) and ‘Best Supporting Actress’ (Amanda Seyfried) categories.

Also, the movies ‘The Father’, ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’, ‘Minari’, ‘Nomadland’, ‘Sound of Metal’ and ‘The Trial of the Chicago 7’ were all nominated.

‘The Milkmaid’, a Nigerian film, had earlier lost out in the shortlist for the ‘International Feature Film’ (IFF) category before the nominations.

The award event will be held at Los Angeles’ Union Station and the Dolby Theatre on April 25 after being postponed from its original February 28 date due to the coronavirus pandemic.
