NEMA Distrubutes Yam Seedlings To Flood Victims In Ebonyi State

February 11, (THEWILL) – The National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) has distrupted yam seedlings to ninety farmers, whose farms were destroyed during 2020 flood disaster.

Performing the flag-off at Isiaka, the headquarters of Ivo Local Government Area, the Assistant Chief Agric Engineer (ACAE) Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), Mr. Omebe Jude said they were at the council to continue the distribution of yam seedlings.

“The federal government sent the yam seedlings through NEMA to 2020 flood disaster victims. The yam seedlings are meant for distribution and farming. The yam seedlings were brought to ninety farmers only.

“It is not for you to sale it. When you plant you get it back and other people will get from you. So today we are here to hand it over to the ninety beneficiaries,” he said.

Speaking also, the chairman of the council, Hon. Onyebuchi Ogbadu, who explained to the beneficiaries that NEMA had been intervening in disasters such as flood, fire and the likes, called on the beneficiaries to make judicios use of the seedlings.

He thanked the governor of the state, David Nweze Umahi for facilitating the interventions by NEMA.
