Ndidi Believes Leicester Can Build On Recent Result With Vardy’s Return

March 05, (THEWILL) – Wilfred Ndidi recently sat down for an interview with his club Leicester FC TV where he touched on a range of topics after a strong performance for the Foxes during their midweek triumph over Burnley.

The Super Eagles’ midfield enforcer was upbeat about their recent resurgence and noted that Leicester may be on their way back to form after a spate of poor Premier League performances.

Leicester’s first win in six games came with a 2-0 victory over Burnley away from home, which coincided with the return of star attacker Jamie Vardy.

Ndidi told LCFC TV that the win was a result of their confidence and positive spirit that had grown over the previous several weeks.

“It was a brilliant win the other day and a very important one for us. We also kept a clean sheet away from home against Burnley, who are a very difficult team. I think it’s something we can build from into the next one.

“The three points are the most important thing. The clean sheet, for the confidence, it’s something we have to build from.”

Vardy’s comeback excites Ndidi, who believes the win against Burnley would enhance the team’s spirit as they approach the crucial part of the season.

“We’ve been building up the positivity from other games. The positive energy and positive things we do in the game. We’ve been building up there. We could see the momentum is actually coming through.

“Getting this win in the last game gave us the confidence that we can keep going because slowly, slowly, we’re steadily building to get our form back. We’re getting our game back, which is very good for us.”

Leicester is currently in 12th place in the league’s standings and manager Brendan Rodgers will be hopeful that the return of Vardy at the exact time that the team is picking up the pace will help them rise higher the table.
