January 26, (THEWILL) – A leading Niger Delta entertainment businessman, Prince Peres Ogbogbo, has commended the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, for appointing Hon. Kalanama Pinawou as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
According to Ogbogbo, the choice of Pinawou will add more value and experience to the MORE agenda of Oborevwori for the entire Delta State.
Ogbogbo, who is also a former governor of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) in Bayelsa State, in the congratulatory message to the Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, described Hon. Pinawou as a “valuable asset” to the present administration and one of many others needed to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
Hon. Pinawou served as the Special Adviser to former governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the Directorate of Local Government Affairs and was a member of the transition committee set up by Governor Oborevwori before his inauguration on May 29, 2023.
Ogbogbo, in a statement made available to newsmen in Yenagoa, stated: “We are not surprised by this appointment. The tact, discipline, dedication, and loyalty with which Hon. Kalanama Pinawou worked during the last administration and his commitment to the spread of democracy at the grassroots left no one in doubt of his ability to fulfil his new mandate under Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.”
He also congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his victory at the Supreme Court, which upheld his election and urged opposition candidates to accept the court’s judgement and work for the development of Delta State.
Ogbogbo, who is also a politician, urged Governor Oborevwori to extend the hand of friendship to the opposition leaders to enable the speedy and pragmatic development of the state.
