BEVERLY HILLS, April 11, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has opened two new laboratories for the testing of the novel coronavirus disease, COVID-19 in the country.
It made the disclosure via its verified Twitter handle on Saturday evening as it revealed their locations as Influenza Laboratory, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, and National Veterinary Research Institute, Plateau state.
With the latest additions, there are now 11 COVID-19 testing laboratories in Nigeria which are three in Lagos, two in Abuja, one in Oyo, Osun, Ebonyi, Edo and now Kano and Plateau.
According to the NCDC, the testing laboratories in Borno, Sokoto, Port Harcourt and Kaduna State are yet to be completed but work is ongoing to ensure they are activated soon.
