November 27, (THEWILL) – The league fined LeBron James $15,000 for making an obscene gesture on the court during the Lakers’ 124-116 overtime triumph over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.

In reaction to the league-imposed penalties, James was also admonished for using vulgar language during his media availability.

There was 1:17 left in the fourth quarter when the event occurred.

James had two fans sitting courtside ejected for using foul language during overtime of the game. He did not go into detail about what the supporters yelled, but he did say that there is a difference between supporting your team and going too far.

“When obscene gestures and language come into it, (it) can’t be tolerated,” James said.

James was returning from a one-game suspension for hitting Detroit’s Isaiah Stewart with a closed fist last Sunday. He scored eight of the Lakers’ 12 points in overtime, including two of his five 3-pointers, for a total of 39 points, five rebounds, and six assists on Wednesday.

After the triumph, James said that his hit on Stewart was unintentional, and that he has not been able to speak with him since. He went on to say that while the ejection was appropriate, a suspension was not.
