N50m Scam Tears Ebonyi CAN Apart

February 26, (THEWILL) – The Ebonyi State Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has accused its former Chairman, Dr Scamb Nwokolo and two others of financial misapplication to the tune of fifty million (N50, 000,000,00) naira only.

A public announcement dated February 19, 2024, and signed by Pastor Dr Aloysius Nweke Ogah and Rev Dr Ogwale Ogwale Ogwale, Chairman and Assistant Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria Ebonyi respectively said the inclusion of Rev. Dr Scamb Nwokolo, Bishop Dr Anayo and Pastor Solomon Eriugo, in Ebonyi CAN leadership, is illegitimate and unscriptural.

According to the announcement, due to the trio’s inconsistent lifestyle, they have refused to give an account of over fifty million naira.

The announcement reads, “The general public is hereby informed that due to the illegitimate and unscriptural inclusion of Rev. Dr Scamb Nwokolo, Bishop Dr Anayo Ilo and Pst Solomon Eriugo in Ebonyi State leadership structure of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), with their inconsistent lifestyle and refusal to give an account of over N50,000,000,00, the members of the association have decided to abandon and avoid these three ministers and cohorts.
Consequently, a new membership structure to cater for the interest of CAN in Ebonyi State has been formed.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Rev. Dr Scamb Nwokolo, who disassociated himself from the faction of CAN in the state, said he has nothing to do with them.

“I don’t have anything with them, I don’t even know them. They’re not even members of CAN.

“I can only react to issues coming from any members of CAN, but for them, they’re not our members and you can check their antecedents.
