October 25, (THEWILL) – Ailing Nollywood actor, John Ikechukwu Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has successfully undergone two major surgeries.
The actor’s adopted daughter, Jasmine Okafor, shared an update on his health via Instagram on Tuesday morning.
In the post, she added that despite the surgeries, the film star still attempted to crack jokes like nothing happened and she was excited that he looked better than he was three weeks ago.
She wrote on her Instagram, “Never seen anyone so strong. Even after two major surgeries, you were still trying to be funny like nothing happened, even at your lowest you still cracked jokes! I promise you, if there’s a God in heaven, you are getting out of this bed, stronger and alive. This is the strongest I have seen you in 3 weeks and I’m so excited! Fight this and get well soon, sweet Papa.”
After the outcry of the ailing actor and his family last Wednesday, pleading for financial assistance, adding that he did not want to lose his leg, several people have announced their donations to the ailing actor.
The Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) Foundation, last Friday, revealed it “paid the entire medical expenses of Ibu on Wednesday”.
