March 18, (THEWILL) – Mason Mount, the 24-year-old England international and Chelsea midfielder, has reportedly engaged new agents, as he enters the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Manchester United have now reportedly entered the race to sign Mount with this new development in view. The belief is that Mount’s new representation may be an indication that he is set to leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
The midfielder has been locked in contract negotiations with Chelsea throughout the season, with no resolution in sight. The club has insisted that they have made their final offer to the midfielder, who is looking for more specialist assistance in his negotiations with other clubs.
Mount has been looked after by his father, Tony, since leaving his previous management company, Stellar Football, but has now appointed Neil Fewings from Wasserman Media Group to manage his potential transfer.
United have reportedly joined Liverpool and Newcastle in their pursuit of Mount, with the change of approach from the midfielder’s camp possibly already paying off. Mount’s future remains uncertain, but the battle for his signature promises to be an interesting one in the coming months.
