March 18, (THEWILL) – The uncertainty over Lionel Messi’s future continues to make waves across Europe, with the Argentine superstar’s contract at Paris Saint-Germain set to expire soon.

Reports regarding his potential departure from PSG have sparked a flurry of rumours, but Messi’s father, Jorge, has vehemently denied the speculation. Taking to social media, he posted: “For many what to put I don’t know believe nothing… WE ARE NOT GOING TO TOLERATE MORE INVENTIONS TO GAIN FOLLOWERS.”

While there has been no confirmation of Messi’s next destination, rumours suggest that Saudi Arabian club, Al-Hilal, is interested in signing him with an impressive deal. However, journalist, Guillem Balague, has ruled out a return to Messi’s boyhood club, Newell’s Old Boys, adding that he “wants to continue in elite football.”

Meanwhile, PSG coach, Christophe Galtier, has insisted that the 34-year-old is content in Paris, despite their recent UEFA Champions League disappointment. As PSG prepares to take on Rennes on Sunday, Messi’s future remains up in the air.

The question remains if he will sign a new deal with the French giants, head to Saudi Arabia for a new challenge, or pursue a different opportunity that is not now obvious.
