October 10, (THEWILL) – The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, has taken another wife, barely one month after marrying Olori Mariam Anako, in an elaborate ceremony.
His marriage ceremony with his new wife, Olori Tobi Philip, took place on Sunday, October 9, 2022.
The traditional ruler was not present at his wedding, but his staff of office and some of his palace guards represented him at the ceremony.
The new bride, Tobi Philip, is an ex-beauty Queen. She is a graduate of Marine Science from Lagos State University.
Philip and the traditional ruler have been together for about six years now. In 2018, the news made rounds that the Ooni was set to marry Philip, following his divorce from Olori Wuraola Zainab Otiti.
Unfortunately, the marriage never saw daylight as the Ooni married Prophetess Silekunola Naomi Ogunwusi, who bore him his heir.
Tobi Phillips is a fashion designer, she runs a popular fashion label known as QTP Luxury Fashion and she is also a 3D artist. Her art gallery, known as D Fairy Artist, has been in existence since 2018.
The native of Okitipupa, Ondo State, has since changed her social media pages to reflect her new status as Olori.
Four days after Philip’s wedding to Ooni of Ife, the monarch will yet roll out the drum again in celebration, as another queen will be added to his harem.
This time around, it’s one of the monarch’s close friends that will be changing her title to that of Olori.
Princess Ashley Adegoke, the bride-to-be, is a chartered accountant and founder of an NGO, Ashley Adegoke Foundation.
Ashley Adegoke is a mother of one from a previous marriage, she was based in London before relocating to Ile Ife.
Princess Ashley isn’t a new entrant at the palace, as she has been an old-time friend of the monarch. She has always been parading herself as the first woman in the life of Ooni.
She also addresses herself as “Her Royal Highness, aya olofin adimula, Aya oba.”
Ooni’s marriage to Princess Ashley isn’t coming as a surprise, as many know that the princess has a special place in Ooni’s heart. She has been with the traditional ruler even before he married his first wife, Olori Wuraola Zainab Otiti, as a Monarch, a few years ago.
The King and his new wife, Adegoke are set to tie the knot on October 14th, 2022, at the Palace of the Ooni and the residence of the bride’s parents.
