Mbaike Reps’ Seat: Ogbuagu Optimistic Of Victory

March 07, (THEWILL) – The Labour Party (LP) House of Representatives candidate for Mbaitoli and Ikeduru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Uche Ogbuagu, has expressed optimism of victory in Saturday’s rerun election.

Ogbuagu, who is the Imo State House of Assembly member for Ikeduru State Constituency, made it known while addressing Journalists in his hometown, Akabo Community, in Ikeduru LGA, on Monday.

The lawmaker, who spoke about the declaration of the February 25 Mbaike election inconclusive by the INEC, alleged that the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was making use of armed men to intimidate people to vote against their conscience.

“My uncles, old women, young pregnant and nursing mothers were beaten with several bodily injuries evident,” he said.

He noted that as the Federal Constituency of Mbaitoli-Ikeduru comes up the same day with the governorship and House of Assembly polls, it becomes important to checkmate the genuineness of the armed men that were seen on the election day.

He reminded his constituents that their votes for the Labour Party would serve as a confirmation and eloquent testimony of the landslide victory of the party, and therefore, urged them to come out en masse to vote for him.
