BEVERLY HILLS, August 23, (THEWILL) – Harry Maguire, Manchester United captain, was released from Greek police custody on Saturday following his arrest on Thursday alongside two other men
over an alleged altercation with police on the Greek island of Mykonos.
The 27-year-old, the world’s most expensive defender following his £80million move last summer, is on holiday in Greece after United’s elimination from the Europa League last weekend.
The Hellenic Police allege one of their officers was hit as he tried to break up a disturbance on Mykonos and that the three men later resisted arrest by “pushing and beating three officers”.
According to TV footage, the center-back was seen leaving the courthouse on neighboring Syros Island followed by members of his legal team.
Maguire’s hearing has been set for Tuesday but he is not obliged to be present.

Manchester United said in a statement: “Following the appearance in court today we note the adjournment of the case to allow the legal team to consider the case file.
“Harry has pleaded not guilty to the charges. It would be inappropriate for the player or club to comment further while the legal process takes its course.”
His lawyer, Constantinos Darivas, had stated that the England centre-back had denied the charges, and was in “fine condition” irrespective of spending two nights in detention since his Thursday night arrest.
