June 29, (THEWILL) – Manchester United and Feyenoord have reportedly reached a €17 million agreement for the transfer of left-back Tyrell Malacia to Old Trafford.

THEWILL understands that the proposed agreement would include a sell-on provision and call for United to pay a guaranteed €15 million, with a possible further €2 million in add-ons as the Red Devils pip Lyon to the deal with the French side initially willing to pay €13 million up front with €2 million in add-ons.

To consummate the potential deal, United still has to agree on personal terms with the defender himself. Frank Arnesen, a director of Feyenoord, said: “The agreement with Man United is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell. If Malacia says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent.”

During the 2021/2022 season, Malacia was a regular fixture in Feyenoord’s first squad, making 50 appearances across all competitions. The 22-year-old made his international debut for the Netherlands in September last year and has since earned five caps.

Since debuting with the first squad in 2017, Malacia, a graduate of the Feyenoord Youth Academy, has played 136 games for his hometown team. United’s move to bring him to Old Trafford coincides with Erik ten Hag’s side making progress in getting Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.
