July 29, (THEWILL) – Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Atalanta for the transfer of Denmark striker, Rasmus Hojlund.
The Red Devils’ search for a summer striker led them to the 20-year-old, who tallied nine goals in 32 Serie A appearances last season. Initially, United’s first offer was turned down by Atalanta. Subsequently, Paris Saint-Germain entered the bidding with a rival offer for the young forward but it appears Old Trafford will be his new home.
The final package, understood to be worth €85m, with €10m in potential add-ons, was eventually agreed upon, and personal terms have also repeatedly been settled.
Hojlund was absent in Atalanta’s friendly with Bournemouth, and the club swiftly announced the signing of his replacement, Almeria’s El Bilal Toure, as THEWILL previously reported. Pending a smooth process, Hojlund will be United’s third main summer signing after midfielder, Mason Mount and goalkeeper, Andre Onana.
