December 28, (THEWILL) – On Tuesday, December 28, at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, the draw for the group stage of the 2021-22 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League was held.
Pitso Mosimane, coach of Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC, aided Khaled Nassar, CAF Head of Competitions, in the draw that led to the group stage of the continent’s premier club championship.
In the most exciting pairing, Group A pits defending champions and continental football powerhouse, Al Ahly of Egypt, against South Africa’s biggest and most successful side, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Two previous winners of the CAF Champions League, both are expected to give their fans their money’s worth of football entertainment and are favourites to lead the group that also has Al Hilal and Al Merreikh of Sudan.
