Maddison, Kulusevski On Target As Tottenham Beat Bournemouth

August 26, (THEWILL) – James Maddison opened his account for Tottenham Hotspur before Dejan Kulusevski ended his goal drought to help Ange Postecoglou’s new-look team continue their positive momentum with a 2-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Despite entering the match with a sore ankle, Maddison applied the finishing touch to an excellent Spurs move after 17 minutes while continuing to pull the strings throughout the English Premier League encounter.

Bournemouth did improve after going behind but Kulusevski was able to clip into the bottom corner in the 63rd minute for his first goal since January to ensure Tottenham extended their impressive start of victories in the new season of the English top division.

Maddison constantly caused problems for the Bournemouth defence and nearly doubled the lead in the second half but dragged his effort wide. Kulusevski’s goal was timely after Bournemouth threatened early in the second period.

The rain-soaked victory provides further evidence of the feel-good factor around Postecoglou’s new-look Spurs team and serves as an ideal start to a weekend of interesting fixtures. Both teams will both be on the road for EFL matches on Tuesday, with Bournemouth going to Swansea and Spurs to Fulham.
