April 02, (THEWILL) – Liverpool beat Watford 2-0 on Saturday, giving Jurgen Klopp his 160th Premier League victory.
Diogo Jota and Fabinho scored in the German’s 250th league game in charge at Anfield, giving them a comfortable victory.
No Liverpool manager has ever won that many games in their first 250 games with the club, with Klopp easily surpassing Kenny Dalglish’s 150 in 250 earlier this season.
Klopp record shows that he has done better than many of his contemporaries in terms of reaching this benchmark. In their first 250 games in command, Jose Mourinho won 158, Sir Alex Ferguson had 152 wins, with Arsene Wenger following in that order.
The 2-0 victory was Liverpool’s tenth in a row in the Premier League, making them only the second team in the tournament to do so five times, alongside Manchester City.
Liverpool climbed to the summit of the English Premier League standings with the three points, but Manchester City might retake it with victory against Burnley on Saturday.
