May 17, (THEWILL) – Liverpool have announced that four of their players, James Milner, Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita, will leave the club this summer.
The quartet’s current contracts are set to expire at the end of the 2022/23 season, and they will depart as free agents. Despite their impending departures, the players will be honoured during Liverpool’s final home game of the season against Aston Villa.
A statement from the club read: “Liverpool FC can confirm Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will leave the club upon the expiry of their contracts this summer. The quartet will each embark on new chapters in their careers following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season, having helped the Reds lift a host of the game’s biggest honours during their spells at Anfield.”
Liverpool will pay tribute to the departing players during their final home game against Aston Villa. The club also extended its gratitude to the quartet for their contribution to the team, saying, “All four players will depart with our gratitude and appreciation for the contribution they have made.”
