June 17, (THEWILL) – Liverpool and Bayern Munich have finally reached an agreement on Sadio Mane’s transfer.
The Senegal forward will now have a physical before moving to the Allianz Arena, with an official announcement expected by the end of the week. He announced his decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the 2021/2022 season and Bayern Munich expressed an early interest, although their first two offers were almost immediately rejected.
However, the two clubs have now agreed on a package that would come in just under Liverpool’s initial £40 million asking price, with Bayern putting up an extra £15 million on top of their initial offer.
Mane met with the Reds hierarchy on Friday prior of their match against Bayern Munich, and agreed to forego his own potential earnings from the transaction in order for the deal to be completed as quickly as possible.
The 30-year-old’s six-year spell at Anfield, during which he won every major accolade available to him as well as multiple individual honours, including the Premier League Golden Boot after the 2018/2019 campaign, will come to an end with his departure to Germany.
