March 14, (THEWILL) – Liverpool have announced that ticket prices at Anfield will be increased for the first time in eight years.

The decision to raise prices by 2% was made due to significant rising costs across the club. The Reds had previously frozen ticket prices for eight seasons, however, the club has stated that they will continue to freeze prices for juniors and local general sales, which will remain at £9 per ticket, making it one of the cheapest in the English Premier League.

Despite announcing a club-record revenue of £594.3m during the 2021/2022 season, Liverpool will raise ticket prices for most general admission matchday tickets. Members’ match tickets will see an increase of just £1 per game, while the cost of a season ticket, which covers all 19 EPL home games, will rise by no more than £17.

The club has emphasised that they did not make the decision lightly and had engaged with the LFC Supporters Board to discuss the potential impact of any price increase on fans. Annual operating costs for Anfield have increased by nearly 40% in the past five years, and utility costs have gone up by 100% this season alone, which has resulted in the rise in ticket prices.

The club has made it clear that they carefully considered all aspects of the ticketing changes, with the intention of limiting the rise to 2%. With this increase, Liverpool FC remains committed to providing affordable tickets for their supporters, and the club’s statement on the matter has expressed their appreciation for the continued support of their loyal fan base.
