January 13, (THEWILL) – Rising Czech star Jiri Lehecka came from a set down to claim his first-ever ATP tour title on Saturday, defeating Briton Jack Draper 4-6 6-4 6-3 in the final of the Adelaide International. The thrilling 2-hour contest saw multiple momentum shifts, with 22-year-old Lehecka ultimately prevailing with superior composure in the decisive moments.
After dropping the opening set, Lehecka wrested back control by capturing a pivotal service break midway through the second. Though Draper valiantly fought off three break chances at 3-1 in the decider, Lehecka’s imperious serving sealed the landmark victory for the fast-rising world number 32.
