July 13, (THEWILL) – Saudi Arabian football club, Al Hilal, made a significant addition to their roster with the signing of Serbia midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, from Italian side, Lazio.
The 28-year-old has penned a three-year contract and will join his new teammates at their pre-season training camp in Austria, following the completion of medical tests. Milinkovic-Savic, who began his career at Vojvodina before a spell at Genk, enjoyed a successful stint at Lazio, scoring an impressive 69 goals in 341 appearances for the club.
Lazio owner, Claudio Lotito, confirmed that the player was determined in his desire for a “change of scenery” after spending eight years in Italy. The acquisition of Milinkovic-Savic marks Al Hilal’s third major signing in the past month, as they continue to bolster their squad. The club had previously secured the services of Ruben Neves from Wolves and Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea in June.
