LASG Promotes 84 Firemen, To Establish Three New Fire Stations

SAN FRANCISCO, September 06, (THEWILL) – The Lagos State Government has promoted 84 Fire fighters, just as it announced its intention to establish three new fire stations in different parts of the State.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr. Jimoh Yusuf disclosed this at the Year 2020 promotion exercise of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, at Alausa, Ikeja.

He said the Lagos State Government intends to build three new Fire Stations at Ebute-Elefun, Ajegunle-Apapa and Abule-Ado, to enhance the response time to fire incidents.

Yussuf, while expressing commendation for the men of the Lagos state fire service said, “I am particularly moved with the quality of input and commitment of our firemen at fire incidents and l am sincerely left with no option than to appreciate you and adjudge you the best in the federation”,

He enjoined the newly promoted officers to step up their performance, adding that the promotion means more work and commitment to “the service of humanity”.

The Acting Head of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Mrs. Margaret Adeseye disclosed that the promoted officers, who cut across the rank and file of the Service, are a total of 13 Assistant Chief Fire Officers, eight Principal Fire Officers, one Senior Fire Officer, 30 Assistant Chief Fire Superintendent Officers and six Principal Fire Superintendent I Officers.

Other promoted officers include four Principal Fire Superintendents ll, two Senior Superintendents, four Higher Fire Superintendents, one Chief Fireman and 15 Fire Superintendents among others.

While applauding the officers, Adeseye commended the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his unrelenting support since the inception of the administration.

She thanked the Governor for providing the necessary equipment for fire fighting and looked forward to improved welfare packages for officers as a way of appreciating their efforts at emergency services.
