February 08, (THEWILL) – The fourth edition of the community marathon series in Nigeria is set to take place in Lagos, on February 19.

Dubbed the “Epe Run”, the race will feature both 10 and five kilometer races, open to runners from across the country and beyond. The event has already been endorsed by the local monarch, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun, who has assured the organisers that his kingdom is ready to welcome all participants.

Organisers have announced that the Epe Run will include a variety of cash prizes and medals for winners in different categories, including indigenous runners, elite runners, visiting runners, team runners, and fun runners. In addition to the races, the event will also feature aerobics, local acts and acrobatics to add to the excitement.

Chief Organiser, Moses Nwanze, stated that the Epe Run will provide an opportunity for athletes to showcase their talents, while also promoting unity and sportsmanship.

He said, “The Epe Run is a platform for runners from different parts of the country and beyond to come together and compete in a friendly and fair environment. We are proud to have the support of Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun and his kingdom, and we look forward to hosting a successful event.”

The previous third leg of the series, the Asaba 10km Road Race, was a success and attracted participants from across the country. With the Epe Run already generating excitement, it is set to be another great event in the community marathon series.
