Kwara United To Face CAF Confed Cup Champions Berkane In Second Round

September 21, (THEWILL) – The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round schedule has been made public by the continental football governing body.

The second round is expected to be lively, given the entry of prominent players into the competition. Reigning champions, RS Berkane, will play Nigeria’s Kwara United after being exempt from the first round. Mali’s AS Real Bamako and Ghana’s Accra Hearts of Oak will square off for a place in the next round.

A southern African matchup awaits Royal AM of South Africa and Zesco of Zambia, while Kipanga of Zanzibar, who made it to the second round, will now play Club Africain of Tunisia. However, due to the first-round withdrawal of their opponents, FC Saint Eloi Lupopo of the Democratic Republic of the Congo will only make their competition debut in the second round against Sagrada Esperança of Angola.

Another intriguing matchup is between two strong squads, JS Saoura of Algeria and Sporting Gagnoa of Côte d’Ivoire. Meanwhile, Al Akhder of Libya will take on Azam of Tanzania and ASCK of Togo will be to against USM Alger.

The first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup is scheduled for October 7–9, and the second leg is set for October 14–16.
