KWAM 1 Gets Chieftaincy Title Held By Late Subomi Balogun

July 02, (THEWILL) – Veteran Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, aka KWAM 1, has been bestowed with the chieftaincy title of Olori OmoOba, at this year’s Ojude Oba festival in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

The title, which used to be held by late Chief Subomi Balogun, the founder of the First City Monument Bank (FCMB), became vacant on May 18, following his death.

KWAM 1 was subsequently conferred with the title by first class monarch, Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona.

KWAM 1, who also has the title of Maiyegun of Yorubaland, is one of the illustrious sons of Ijebuland, and one of the top Fuji stars in the country, with local and global recognitions.

The 64-year-old, who unveiled his humongous Maiyegun Royal Resort in Ogun State about two years ago, holds the Member of the Order of Nigeria, MON, national honour.
