October 21, (THEWILL) – PSG winger, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, is set to miss the rest of the season after sustaining a knee injury in the 4-2 win over Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Kvaratskhelia was injured during a collision with Barcelona’s Xavi Espart in the 59th minute of the encounter. He was carried from the field by PSG medical staff due to the extent of the injury.
The French club announced in a statement on Wednesday that the Georgian winger has suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, and he is set to undergo surgery in the next few days.
“Having suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during yesterday’s match against FC Barcelona, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will undergo surgery in the coming days”, the statement read.
The club also confirmed that Ousmane Dembele and Marquinhos are expected to be out for a few weeks.

Kvaratskhelia has been a key player since joining PSG from Napoli in January 2025.
He scored eight goals and recorded four assists in 28 Ligue 1 appearances.
He won the Champions League player of the season with 10 goals, and six assists to lead PSG to a second consecutive Champions League trophy.
PSG will be back in action in the Ligue 1 clash against Lyon.
