April 09, (THEWILL) – Jurgen Klopp expressed his disappointment over Ibrahima Konate’s miss during the final seconds of Liverpool’s game against Arsenal.

The Reds found themselves conceding two goals and struggling to keep up in the first 30 minutes of the game on Sunday. Despite their efforts, Liverpool managed to find their way back into the game with goals from Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

The game could have gone in Liverpool’s favour, but the team missed a series of opportunities to score. Salah missed a penalty, Darwin Nunez failed to make a one-on-one attempt, and Aaron Ramsdale denied both Salah and Konate with impressive saves in added time.

Klopp was particularly irked by Konate’s miss, stating: “If Ibou [Konate] uses his head [for a late chance] it’s a goal. Maybe he slipped. He had a chance, it was just there.” The manager also shared his thoughts on the game itself, calling it a “typical” performance for Liverpool’s season thus far.

He was “caught in between” being happy and not, and mentioned that Arsenal could and should have lost the game. The point earned by Arsenal was better for them, but Klopp felt that Liverpool deserved at least a point.
