Kefas Agbu Clinches Taraba PDP Governorship Ticket

May 26, (THEWILL) – Lt Col Kefas Agbu Rtd, has emerged governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba state, following the primary elections of the Party.

Kefas Agbu won the primaries, defeating other aspirants at the poll with 443 votes in Jalingo on Wednesday.

Others, who contested alongside Kefas were, Speaker of the House, Hon Albasu Kunini 31 votes, Pof Jerome 24 votes, Sen Joel Ikenya 11 votes and Bubajoda Mafindi had 6 votes respectively.

In his acceptance speech, Kefas assured that he will run a government that will include everyone and also build on the legacies of Gov Ishaku.

Kefas, who accepted to bear the party’s flag enjoined Tarabans to trust him to do right by them as he has done in the Party as Chairman.

Also, Gov Ishaku, who witnessed the exercise applauded the efforts of all who took part in the exercise and urged the contestants to all work together to ensure the party maintains its grip in Taraba come 2023.

Ishaku advised that the victory was for the Party, hence all hands should be on deck to support Kefas, who emerged as the candidate for the good of the party and Tarabans at large.
