Kano Police Say State MOPOL Commander dead After Protracted Illness

SAN FRANCISCO, May 4, (THEWILL) – An Assistant Commissioner of Police and the Mobile Police Commander (MOPOL 9) in Kano State, Atiku Nagodi has died at his residence after a protracted ailment, the state police command said Monday.

DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the police spokesman in the state said he has been buried according to Islamic rites.

The spokesman debunked reports that Nagodi, 54, died from coronavirus insisting to the media that he had been ill but declined to speak further on the nature of the ailment.

“He did not die of coronavirus. He died after a protracted illness. You will get the full details from me when I get back to the office tomorrow,” he said.
