July 07, (THEWILL) – The Kano State Government has given N25 million each to the Community Re-orientation Committees (CRCs) in the 44 local government areas in the state for renovation of primary and secondary schools in their respective domains.

The Chairman of the ruling New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the state, Alhaji Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, disclosed this while highlighting the achievements of the NNPP-Controlled Government in the state in the last one year.

Dungurawa said the CRCs would conduct repairs on primary and secondary school buildings in their respective areas such as fixing broken doors, gates and windows, re-painting and evacuation of toilets.

He said the initiative was part of the efforts of the administration to revamp primary and secondary school education which he said had suffered neglect over the years.

He said to ensure inclusiveness, the CRCs had as its members village heads, Chief Imams, youth leaders, labour unions and members of opposition parties.

The Chairman said the CRCs were sponsored by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration as part of its efforts to ensure the development of all communities in the state.

He noted that the administration had been delivering on the mandate freely given to it by the people of the state, executing development projects in such sectors as education, health and agriculture.

He said the government allocated about 30 percent of its 2024 budget to the education sector, which he described as unprecedented.

Dungurawa also said the Government sponsored more than 1000 students from the state to pursue higher degrees in foreign universities.

He also said that the administration had settled registration fees of about N1 billion for more than 700 students of the state studying in various universities in the country.

He said the gesture would be sustained till the students graduate from their respective universities.
