SAN FRANCISCO, November 05, (THEWILL) – England goal-merchant Harry Kane scored his 200th goal for Tottenham Hotspur in a fairly comfortable 3-1 UEFA Europa League victory over Ludogorets at the Huvepharma Arena on Thursday.

In his 300th appearance in all competitions and as captain of the North London outfit, Kane became only the third Spurs player to score a double century of goals when he headed in Brazilian right winger Lucas Moura’s corner in the 13th minute.

Earlier, it seemed like Kane’s wait for this landmark was to continue beyond Bulgaria when two glittering chances went begging inside the opening six minutes. He first lofted a glorious one-on-one opening over and rattled the post with a powerful drive later.

The third time proved the charm, however, as his next effort was that powerful header from Lucas’ corner that Ludogorets’ keeper Plamen Iliev could not keep out.

But Iliev was up to the task to deny Irish right back Matt Doherty in the 25th minute. Then, Gareth Bale slid a pass into Kane, who returned the favour for Lucas with a perfectly weighted square ball that the Brazilian easily tapped home.

Seeing the job was done, Mourinho replaced Kane with Brazilian striker Carlos Vinicius for the second half. In that second period, Romanian forward Claudiu Keseru halved the deficit in the 50th minute with a cheeky volley after Ghanaian winger Bernard Tekpetey’s shot looped up off central defensive midfielder Harry Winks.

Son Heung-min came in for Lucas in the 61st minute. 15 seconds on, the Korean teed Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso to ensure that Spurs’ Europa League campaign was definitively put back on track.

Tottenham travel to struggling West Brom in the Premier League on Sunday, while Ludogorets take on fellow Bulgarian First League title hopefuls CSKA Sofia on the same day.
