October 3, (THEWILL) – In their first game back in Serie A, Juventus defeated Bologna 3-0 thanks to goals from Filip Kostic, Dusan Vlahovic, and Arkadiusz Milik, ending a winless drought of more than a month.
Massimiliano Allegri’s position as the club’s head coach was in grave uncertainty going into Sunday’s game because his team had not won any competition since August.
However, a confident performance from the Bianconeri against Thiago Motta’s troubled team at the Allianz Stadium has probably allayed any initial concerns over the Juve manager’s job security, even though the scale of the task facing the Bologna manager is becoming immediately clear.
Getting on the end of a pass from Vlahovic, Kostic gave the hosts the lead early on. Juve started the second half cautiously, but after two quick goals from Vlahovic and Milik, they made sure they left with all three points.
Juventus will now concentrate on hosting Maccabi Haifa in their next UEFA Champions League match while Bologna’s next Serie A matchup is against Sampdoria at home.
