BEVERLY HILLS, February 12, (THEWILL) – Judicial workers at state courts nationwide, who have been on strike for several weeks have been directed to resume duties tomorrow (Friday) by the workers’ union, Judicial Workers Union of Nigeria (JUSUN).
“We got directives that the strike has been called off and that we are to resume tomorrow (Friday), ” a senior judicial officer attached to the Delta State judiciary told THEWILL.
Details of the decision to suspend the strike were sketchy as at the time of this report.
THEWILL recalls that JUSUN had on January 25, 2015, suspended the strike action by its members in all federal courts only after a three-week industrial action. The affected courts are the Federal High Court, the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court and the National Industrial Court.
The union had directed workers to down tolls following the refusal of the executive arm of government to comply with the judgment of a Federal High Court, Abuja which ordered the executive to hands off funds meant for the judiciary.
