Jovic Opens Account As Milan Ease Past Frosinone

December 03, (THEWILL) – AC Milan secured a comfortable 3-1 victory over Frosinone at the San Siro on Saturday, with Luka Jovic netting his first goal for the Rossoneri. Despite missing several key players, Milan controlled proceedings and responded well after almost falling behind to the visitors.

Milan lacked cutting edge in the first half, with Frosinone coming close through Marvin Cuni. However, Serbia striker Jovic broke the deadlock on 43 minutes, lashing in an excellent left-footed volley from Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s cross. Christian Pulisic then doubled Milan’s advantage shortly after half-time with a superb solo goal, before Fikayo Tomori sealed the win by forcing home Jovic’s header.

Stefano Pioli’s side move up to third in Serie A behind Inter Milan, who have a game in hand, and leaders Juventus. The result provides a timely boost ahead of a crucial winter period, with Milan facing seventh-placed Atalanta next weekend.

Despite Marco Brescianini’s late consolation, Frosinone remain 11th in the table. Still, coach Eusebio de Francesco will be encouraged by periods of promising play from his newly-promoted side.
