August 09, (THEWILL) – The wife and two daughters of a journalist, Muhammed Bashir, have been abducted by gunmen.

Bashir, who is a correspondent with the Nigeria Telegraph, in a terse statement on Friday, said his two daughters and their mother, along with eight others, were kidnapped by gunmen on Thursday.

The wife and his two daughters were said to have been on holiday with her relatives in a suburb of Kaduna when the incident happened.

“My dear colleagues, please I need your prayers. My two daughters and their mother, including eight others, were kidnapped yesterday, by unknown gunmen in Kaduna where they went for a holiday. Please pray for me”, he wrote in the Kogi Correspondents’ Chapel WhatsApp platform.

Bashir said he had contacted the police and the Department of State Services (DSS), who assured him that they were taking steps to rescue the victims and arrest the kidnappers.
