August 21, (THEWILL) – The Peoples Democratic Party in Jos South local government area of Plateau State has secured a High Court order to serve legal notice on the State chapter of the Party, the State Chairman, and the Party Chairman in Jos South by substituted means.

Addressing journalists after securing the court order at the Plateau state High Court 6, Counsel to the aggrieved and protesting faction of the Jos South PDP, Livinus Pam, Esq, explained that seeking this leave of court became necessary because the respondents have been habitually evading notice to be served on them in order to frustrate the entire court process.

Pam further said that with the substituted service, the remaining court process will go ahead because it is deemed that the respondents have been duly informed of the action brought against them and their responsibility therein to make themselves available and put up a defence.

According to Pam, his client had earlier approached the Court to seek redress over the irregularities and discrepancies that marred the conduct of the party ward congresses in the local government area on July 27, 2024. Noting that the congresses were actually inconclusive as out of twelve federal wards, congresses were held in only six, the petitioners are miffed that while up till now congresses have not been held in the six affected wards, some forces are bent on manipulating the situation and submit a list or names of fake persons who have not emerged from any popular ballot.

The aggrieved group is actually in court to insist that justice has to be done by conducting credible congresses in the remaining six wards in the interest of fairness and internal party democracy.
