Jonathan Okays Institute Of Construction Technology For Anenih’s Town

SAN FRANCISCO, December 29, 2013, (THEWILL) – A National Institute of Construction Technology is to be established in Uromi, the home town of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih.

Approval for the establishment of the school has already been given by President Goodluck Jonathan.

Disclosing this at the weekend in Uromi was Vice President Namadi Sambo during a special thanksgiving mass at the St Anthony’s Catholic Cathedral, Uromi, for the 80th birthday of Anenih, a ceremony which was earlier celebrated in Abuja amid pomp and ceremony on August 4.

The vice president, who described Anenih as “our dear elder statesman, father and mentor,” said the establishment of the institute was in appreciation by the Federal Government of Anenih’s invaluable contributions to the socio-political and economic development of the nation.

He also extolled Anenih’s life of commitment and dedication to the service of God and humanity, saying his life personified hard work and resilience.

Recalling Anenih’s political exploits from the defunct Second Republic through his leadership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the defunct Third Republic to the formation and growth of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he (Anenih) currently chairs the Board of Trustees,Sambo said Anenih is a fighter in the political arena and stickler for peace, unity and stability of the nation.

He maintained that Anenih is a staunch believer in truth, saying his exemplary life of hard work, commitment, sincerity and love of God is worthy of emulation.

“As a mark of appreciation for the contributions of this great man, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has graciously granted approval for the establishment of the National Institute of Construction Technology in Uromi,” Sambo said to the admiration of the audience.

Expressing gratitude to God for keeping him in good health at 80, Anenih expressed deepest appreciation for the gesture by the Federal Government under President Jonathan.

Present at the ceremony were Nigeria’s former Ambassador and member of PDP BoT , Hassan Adamu (Wakili Adamawa); the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion; Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Ogiadhome; State Chairman of the PDP, Chief Dan Orbih; and Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Victor Ochei, among others.
