Jonathan Appoints Presidential Committee For Implementation Of 2014 National Conference Report

SAN FRANCISCO, September 05, (THEWILL) –President Goodluck Jonathan Friday approved the composition of a Presidential Committee to study and draw up the Implementation Strategy for the 2014 National Conference Report which was submitted to the President a few days ago by the leadership of the National Conference headed by retired Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi.

The committee according to a government statement has Mr. Mohammed Bello Adokie, the Attorney General of the Federation & Minister of Justice as Chairman while Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation will serve as member and Secretary.

Other members are Transport Minister, Senator Idris A. Umar; Minister of State Finance, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda; Minister of Aviation, Mr. Osita Chidoka; Minister of state for the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Oloye Olajumoke Akinjide; and Minister of Works, Architect Mike Onolememen.

The statement listed the Terms of Reference of the committee as follows:

“(i) To study the Report of the 2014 National Conference.

(ii) To articulate the recommendations therein and develop appropriate strategies for its implementation.

(iii) To advise Government on all matters necessary for the effective implementation of the Report.”

“The Committee is encouraged to take off immediately,” the statement added.
